Have you heard of the term “Resistance” before??
You’ve probably heard it used in a work out class, “Add more resistance to your band!”
But the kind of resistance we’re talking about here is more of the feeling you have before attending those work out classes.
In the book "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield, he wrote:
“Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.”
You may have felt resistance creep up before you enrolled in this 21-Day Cleanse. Or perhaps you feel it when you sit down to work on your passion project. Resistance usually visits us when we are about to do something really awesome for ourselves.
The Science Behind Resistance
There is even a science behind the force of Resistance. Todd Herman, who is a sports psychology coach who has worked with Olympians, yes, Olympians… has a theory on resistance, which is backed by hard science.
"When you are partaking in a significant lifestyle ch...

Is Your Liver Making You Fat?
If you are struggling with your weight and can’t seem to lose a pound no matter what you do, it is possible that your liver is to blame. The liver functions like a processing factory, oxidizing or breaking down substances to provide your body with energy and rid it of harmful or toxic substances.
The toxic substances arise from many different sources: poor diet, stress, lack of sleep, lifestyle choices like smoking and alcohol use, additives, preservatives, pollution – the list is endless.
Your body is constantly exposed to these substances, and many may have the capacity to be harmful. This is why it is imperative to have an optimally functioning liver.
When your liver is unable to properly detoxify and eliminate harmful substances, the toxins accumulate and this impacts your metabolism. Your liver is responsible for the processing and breaking down of fats – it is your body’s fat burning machine. When it is overworked due to chronic exposure to toxins it ca...

Drink lots of water. The liver is like a cleaning mop – it is able to clean more efficiently with water in it. By drinking lots of water, you are hydrating the liver and allowing it to clean itself thoroughly.

10 Simple Liver Detox Tips
Do you ever wonder what your liver does and why you should keep it in tip-top shape? Well, your liver plays a vital role in maintaining your health. In simple terms, it is like the equivalent of an oil filter in your car – it’s your body’s natural filtration process.
Everything put inside your body gets filtered through your liver and it uses the nutrients (good stuff) to optimize your health and gets rid of the toxins (bad stuff that causes a lot of different ailments).
This process runs very smoothly when your liver is healthy and isn’t being overburdened with bad things. By bad things, I mean alcohol, fatty/processed foods, additives/preservatives, poor sleep, lack of exercise and chronic stress. All of these will impact your liver and unfortunately we are all guilty of not living a perfect lifestyle.
When you live a not so healthy lifestyle it will eventually catch up to you and your liver can become tired. It can even get sick. Consequently, it w...

Paleo Friendly Blueberry Pumpkin Muffins
You might be wondering about now what is up with me and pancakes/muffins on my website! Ok, I admit it, I like to bake and I am always looking for something quick to have in the morning with my coffee. It keeps me from getting the jitters and keeps my cortisol levels from spiking too high during my morning coffee (excessive cortisol leads to belly fat!). I have created this recipe from other great paleo muffin recipes, adding blueberries (because they are in season) and Vanilla Trim Shake, for extra protein and a smidge of sweetness. The objective here is not to create a super sweet muffin, but something with a healthy punch of protein and fats that will satisfy to go along with your spinach and eggs! Gourmet!
Try these out and come back to give me a full report! If you would like to order the Vanilla (or chocolate, or both) Trim Shake, contact me directly, or go to my doTERRA website to "Join an...
